Accounting Operations and System Analyst
This position directs FHLBank’s accounting for Workday integrations, manages upgrades, including evaluation of new functionality, and is the lead report writer for Workday Financials. The position will also help research and maintain the Workday and other general accounting system applications. The position requires a significant level of judgment and interpretation of FHLBank’s daily transactions, business processes and workflow. With proficiency, the position will provide support and analysis for various financial reports including actual vs. budget activity, reconciliations and ongoing evaluation regarding automation of processes. The position will make sure financial accounting operations activity follows generally acceptable accounting principles, regulatory and SEC requirements and proper internal controls.
What qualifications are needed?
Five to eight years of similar or related experience, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field or six years of related business experience. CPA or CMA certificate and/or MBA or MAcc preferred. At least five years of previous financial accounting experience is preferred either (1) within the financial services industry or (2) a public accounting firm. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories is required. At least three years of comprehensive experience using Workday Finance system is required including Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Business Assets, Banking & Settlement, Integrations, Projects, Security and report writing/calculated fields (includes creating dashboards in Workday) Workday Accounting Center/Prism experience is a plus Experience with automated reconciliation tool preferred Knowledge of appropriate internal controls Efficient 10-key operations Excellent written and verbal communication skills
