Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Specialist

Applications are now being accepted for the position of ITS Specialist in the Traffic Operations department at Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. Starting wage is $29.80 – $34.30 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: • The ITS Specialist performs technical oversight requiring considerable independent judgment in the application of a broad range of directives, policies, procedures and techniques associated with Intelligent Transportation Systems and related work. • The ITS Specialist is responsible to build, operate, maintain, and repair Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) communications systems and equipment along with Ethernet networks. • The ITS Specialist also installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber optic communication networks.

Qualifications: • The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and testing related to data communications. • Required to obtain an Idaho Class “B” CDL driver’s license within 90 days of hire. • Completion of a standard high school course supplemented by college level courses in Electronic Technology with 3 years of demonstrated experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.
