Inspector - Sidewalk Program
Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Sidewalk Program Inspector in the Maintenance Department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and starting wage is $19.62 - $22.55 per hour/ DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: • The Sidewalk Program Inspector inspects, monitors, and investigates contractor compliance with District plans, specifications and standards for work performed within the public right-of-way areas of Ada County. • Responsible for investigation of complaints, identification and prioritization of sidewalk repairs, assisting with organizing the repair locations into bid packages, public relations, and inspection. Is also responsible to adhere to all District safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications: • Requires considerable knowledge of construction practices and procedures as well as ADA requirements. Also requires a good knowledge of surveying, material sampling and testing techniques and procedures, and construction practices for roads, utilities, and storm drains. • Requires the ability to inspect and monitor quantity, quality, condition, and specification compliance of materials and workmanship; perform engineering mathematical calculations; read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans. • Prior experience with practical engineering work or as an inspector is desired. • Prefer completion of studies in engineering science and mathematics, or graduation from a technical institute with coursework in surveying or drafting. • Must be able to obtain a Nuclear Safety Certification within 3 months of hire, and all WAQTC certifications within 1 year. Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license. • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A completed ACHD Employment application is required and must be submitted to Human Resources by 4:30 p.m, September 16, 2021.
