GIS Analyst / Senior GIS Analyst
Applications are now being accepted for the position of GIS Analyst / Sr. GIS Analyst at the Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting wage range of $26.00 - $32.90 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: • Under the supervision of the GIS Coordinator, the GIS Analyst / Sr. GIS Analyst performs technical and professional work in the analysis, maintenance and operation of geographic information system (GIS) databases and programs. • Designs, develops, and implements web, mobile, and desktop GIS applications. • Recommends standards and procedures to improve the overall GIS system, particularly with production of high priority data, maps and services. • Serves as a mentor to lower level GIS Analysts, Technicians and Interns. • Implements automation for repetitive GIS processes using Python scripts. • Co-administers ArcGIS Enterprise and software user licensing. • Serves as Project Manager on GIS projects. • Writes SQL queries and manages Enterprise Geodatabases. • Develops/leads ArcGIS Enterprise training and technical support to District staff.
Qualifications: • Requires considerable knowledge of ArcGIS Pro desktop software; GIS Enterprise and WebGIS software platforms (ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS). • Considerable knowledge of Geodatabase design and administration; Map service creation/configuration; Data collection, manipulation, and spatial analysis. • Considerable knowledge of GIS programming and scripting languages. • Good knowledge of database management, particularly SQL Server. • Good knowledge of Web API’s, development/consumption of REST based services. • Any combination of education, training, or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
