Applications are now being accepted for the position of Crew Chief on the Cloverdale Utility Crew in the Maintenance Division of Ada County Highway District. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting pay range $23.74 - $27.29 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: • Under general supervision of the Superintendent, the primary duties consist of supervising Maintenance Operations personnel engaged in maintenance work related to concrete repair and replacement, drainage and utility repairs; assuring compliance of all applicable safety standards; assisting in budget preparation; estimating cost of material, labor and equipment for maintenance activities; training and instructing crew members, and contracting jobs with local contractors when the work load warrants. • The Crew Chief is required to be part of an “on-call” rotation year-round to respond to emergency call-out, as requested, on a 24-hour basis. • Winter operations are an essential function of this position and may require working outside of normal work hours.
Qualifications: • Must have a current Idaho Class “A” CDL license. If CDL license is from another state, must be able to obtain an Idaho CDL by start of employment and must obtain a tanker endorsement within 30 days of employment. • Must have previous supervisory experience and the ability to operate all equipment associated with the performance of assigned tasks. Experience with customer service is a must. • Requires general computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft office, e-mail, and the internet. • Must have general knowledge of concrete, storm drain and irrigation pipe replacement and repair; basic survey knowledge with the ability to read civil engineering plans. • Requires a good knowledge of Idaho Standards for Public Works Construction. • Any combination of education, training, or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable.
